This is the process we follow on all our interior painting projects to ensure each one meets our high standards.
Our Interior Painting Process
-
1- Furniture
All furniture, televisions, art and window treatments need to be removed away from all painting surfaces. DiPinto Painting is not responsible for moving property to make room for the work activities. If we agree to move property, it is done only as a courtesy, not a responsibility. The client agrees to hold the contractor harmless for any damage that may occur moving these items.
-
2- Electrical Switch Plates
We remove all of the switch plates and put them back when the job is complete.
-
3- Covering/ Masking
Protect all floors, existing structure finishes, materials and components using plastic sheeting, paper and drop clothes.
-
4- Drywall
Nail holes and cracks in the drywall repaired. Larger holes will have an additional labor charge.
-
5- Cleaning
The surface must be clean and dry before we begin. We will wipe down all surfaces as needed to ensure the best paint adhesion.
-
6- Caulking
Any cracks around baseboards, crown moulding, windows and doors will be re-caulked as needed using premium caulking.
-
7= Scraping and Sanding
All walls will be scraped and sanded where needed before we begin painting.
-
8- Painting
Typically, we paint the ceilings with one coat, then the walls with two coats and finally the trim with one coat. Additional coats may be needed.
-
9- Cutting in
Painting the edges takes skill and experience to do it right. Our process uses slow, long strokes to get the best results.
-
10- Rolling
We use 12” or 18” rollers depending on the job, keeping a wet edge and rolling from ceiling to floor.
-
11- Clean up
All coverings and masking will be removed by our crews once the painting is completed. The floors will be swept/ vacuumed. No mess will be left behind by our crew!
-
12- Inspection
Every completed interior painting project is inspected for quality by the Project Manager and they will walk the job with you before you sign off on the job.
